Event Details

Eden Armstrong is a Brisbane based jazz pianist, bassist and composer in his second year of study at the Queensland Conservatorium.  In his formative years, playing upright bass in Big Bands developed the love he now has for music, especially jazz. Heavily influenced by the likes of Bill Evans, Keith Jarrett, Dave Catney, Kenny Barron and Kenny Kirkland, Eden constantly strives to find unique, exciting and enjoyable ideas in all contexts of his playing. The Eden Armstrong Trio is comprised of Benja King (Upright Bass), Tom Henderson (Drums) and Eden Armstrong (Piano). Relax and join the group as they enjoy exploring textures and harmony utilizing well-known to more obscure tunes as well as originals.

Tom began drumming in 2010 as part of a primary school program. Since then, he’s won numerous awards on a national level (Australian Percussion Eisteddfod) and performed for audiences across a range of genres. Currently, he’s studying at the Queensland Conservatorium alongside band members Eden and Benja.

Benja King is a second year jazz student at the Conservatorium of Music whose musical influences include Esperanza Spalding, Edgar Meyer, Petros Klampanis and John Lurie. Benja, taught classically now spends his time playing in traditional folk, gypsy, rock and jazz outfits in and around South East Queensland.
