This new project features original compositions that explore the intricate rhythmic possibilities of bebop blended with the formal freedom of Ornette Coleman’s Quartet and a heavy dose of the interactive style of the 60’s Miles Davis Quintet. Re:Bop has developed their highly spontaneous sound during several residencies earlier this year in Brisbane, and each performance so far has been quite unique. For their Doo-Bop debut, the band will premier some brand new music bursting with quirky but memorable melodies. The band features Joshua Hatcher (tenor saxophone, compositions), Lachlan McKenzie (trumpet), Luke McIntosh (bass) and Aaron Jansz (drums).
Doors open at 6.30pm. Show starts at 7.30pm.
