The Louise Denson Group offers a tasty menu of jazz standards and originals. Louise is an accomplished pianist and composer. Her work features beautiful melodies, rich harmony and happening grooves, reflecting her experience in jazz, classical, Afro-Cuban and Brazilian music. She has released four LDG CDs – On the Level (1996), Clean Start (2002), Portrait (with Ingrid James, 2007) and Flame Tree (LDG-Latin! 2010). She has received both a Sunnie Award and a Queensland Music Award for her work, and several composition commissions. Her compositions in the jazz and classical genres have been recorded by both Australian and American artists.

LDG has performed at the Montreal International Jazz Festival, Wangaratta Jazz Festival, Melbourne Women’s International Jazz Festival, Valley Jazz Festival, Brisbane International Jazz Festival, Noosa Jazz Festival, and Broadbeach Jazz Festival, as well as at many public and private events. LDG has shared the stage with horn players John Stefulj, James Sandon, Robert Schultz and Phil Noy, as well as the late Tony Hobbs, and Canadian greats Aron Doyle and Frank Lozano. Louise has a long-term collaboration with internationally acclaimed vocalist Ingrid James, with whom she has written many songs and done many performances both in Australia and overseas.
